 After graduating in 1986 from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, I pursued a career in teaching and coaching tournament level juniors. Relocating to Atlanta in 1993, with direction from USPTR tennis professional Joe Goldthreate of Nashville, Tennessee, was a very growth-oriented move for my tennis career. Upon arrival, I had the opportunity to work with some great coaches such as Norman Wilkerson, Gary Grolimon, Billy Jean King, Horace Reid, Tom Gorman, Dennis Ralston, and Mali Vai Washington to name a few. Also, I had the opportunity to train many nationally ranked juniors and participate in several grass roots tennis programs implemented at public facilities.
During the eleven years I lived in Atlanta, I was very fortunate to obtain a unique tennis experience in both public and private sectors as a coach/teacher and tennis consultant in the best tennis market in the United States. In the Atlanta area, there are many excellent models from which to learn about all aspects of the sport and business. In June of 2004, I relocated to the Sarasota/Bradenton area.
Since living in Sarasota/Longboat Key, I have had a unique opportunity to work in hospitality at the former #1 rated Colony Beach & Tennis Resort along with Director Sammy Aviles. The Longboat Key club is also another
great option for quality tennis on Longboat Key especially since the Colony is now closed. We are a top ten resort and #1 on the SW Florida coast!!
In remembrance of the late tennis professionals Arthur Ashe, Steve Christian, and Norman Wilkerson, I dedicate this page because they have had an impact on my life and career.
